The 2027 Brevet Season

All–

The event info and registration pages for the 2027 ACP brevets are being posted over the next few days. Here’s what’s in store:

(1) Two “early season” ACP brevets. There’s a 300K on Veterans Day. Totally random. Totally awesome. Totally free. And then a 200K on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Both of these “count” for PBP qualification.

(2) The regular ACP brevet series: 200-300-400-600, January through April. We’ll have the traditional 300/200 on MLK Jr weekend out of Dunnellon. You’ll see a return of Route 555 for the 400km on February 6. All roads to Paris lead through the hills west of Lake Apopka. And then the 600km will be the very fun Tavares-Pine Island-Flagler-Tavares route in a 300/300 format.

(3) Some last-chance ACP brevets for Paris aspirants who need make-up rides. We’ll have a 300km on May 29 (the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend), a 400km on June 12, and a 600km on June 26. All of these brevets will be out of Dunnellon and expect them to be totally unsupported. They’re there if you need them and it’s likely that some of us planning on PBP — myself included — will need one or more of them.

(4) The summer regulars return. We’ll have the umpteenth running of the San An 100km on June 5 and the Up! All Night San An 200km night ride on July 16. Note that the 200km is an ACP ride, but you can’t use it to qualify for Paris. It’s after the cut-off. It is, though, a great opportunity for those taking the 80- or 90-hour starts to practice riding through the night and it’s great as a bike and gear shakedown ride as you complete your PBP preparations. Plus, it’s just a heck of a fun ride.

(5) Help! Are you at loose ends? Have a spouse/partner/friend who is? We could use some volunteers to help serve riders, especially at the finish. Please reach out if you’re able to help out.

See you on the road,
Paul
