17 of 26 starters (there were also 3 DNSs) completed this new route to Maxville, back to Eustis, and then to Polk City and back to Eustis via Mascotte. Saturday started off in the 60s, but the temperatures dropped into the 50s and bottomed out at 52F by the time the riders reached the lunch stop in Maxville (mile 125). Most riders had rain for at least 75% of the first day. Sunday warmed up a bit but Dave Thompson, who left the overnight at 2am, caught the remnants of the front.  Everyone else still riding left after 6am and those riders got caught in the afternoon thunderstorms that roamed Lake County, some of which were strong enough to flood roads temporarily.
