Some notes on the ride:

— The route is a new 600K route out of Dunnellon. It’s one, 300K loop (ridden in opposite directions!) that comes back to the start/finish at the midpoint. The ACP/RUSA rule change eliminating the closing times for intermediate controls makes this possible. So, instead of riding a 400/200, you’re riding two 300K brevets (within 40 hours, of course) with the real possibility, even for our slower riders, of getting meaningful rest at the overnight control (which is the midpoint/start/finish). Of course, you’re free to leave out anytime you like for the second loop.

The 300K loop will overlap substantially with the 400K route we’ve used twice (cutting off the northern end of that route)..

—SAG on the route: Do not plan on it. Be prepared to support yourself throughout the duration of the ride. For certain, though, if you cannot complete the route for any reason, be prepared to arrange your own transportation back to the start/finish. There will be no sagging riders back to the start/finish.

–You must be registered for the ride and sign the waiver  “Ride-alongs” jeopardize not only the existence of our rides but all of American randonneuring. If you want to volunteer to support all riders, please contact me and we’re thankful for the help.
