There are some lumpy bits on the northern end of Day 1. Day 2 passes twice through the hills west of Lake Apopka, but the Van Fleet offers 40 miles of shaded relief. The route has been run three times, most recently in 2022.

Where’s the GPS file? There are no RBA-provided GPS files for ACP brevets. The cue sheet is the official route. Please make your own GPS file formatted and organized and loaded as you like it. You can use one your buddy made, but please check it yourself for errors and conformity with the final cue sheet. Please be wary of anything you find on the internet, and especially a GPS file from past events using this route. It has changed some over the years, especially the part that runs west of Lake Apopka as that area has continued to suffer development.

Note: I’ve enjoyed the civilized 300/300 format of the 600K these past few years. I’m a big fan of the rule change eliminating intermediate control times, which is what enabled this. Getting back at a reasonable hour is great! But it’s back to reality, y’all, for this season and the next. Paris-Brest-Paris is in 2027, and the point of these brevets (yes, they’re fun in their own right) is to prepare and qualify riders to complete PBP. I don’t believe you’re well prepared or, frankly, qualified, to be successful on a 1200K, especially PBP, if you’re riding your 600K as a 300/300. You need the experience of riding 400km and then following that up with another ultradistance ride. I think it’s poor planning to attempt PBP as a 300/300/300/300 (even that won’t work; the ride is typically 1220 to 1230km). Successfully completing a 1200K isn’t about putting time in the bank, it’s about putting distance in the bank. Putting road behind you. I think that means going to Pontivy (~400km) or Pleyben (~460km) on Day 1. I’m sure there are people who finish PBP within time by overnighting at Fougères, (300km) or Tinténiac (360km), but I don’t know any of them. And I know some very strong riders who DNF’d using such a strategy. So, welcome back to the 400/200. Civilization and a full night’s sleep will return in ’28.

Registration

You MUST pre-register for this event! No day-of registrations.
