There are a few bridges on and off the barrier islands, but that&#8217;s it.<br \/>\n<strong>Cost<\/strong>: $20<br \/>\n<strong>Cue Sheet<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/floridarandonneurs.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/200K-Tour-of-Piniellas-County-19-Aug-2026-metric.xls\">here<\/a> (metric) and <a href=\"http:\/\/floridarandonneurs.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/200K-Tour-of-Piniellas-County-19-Aug-2026.xls\">here<\/a> (imperial). Last updated 20 Aug 26.<br \/>\n<strong>Where is the GPS file?<\/strong> None for ACP rides. Please, please, please make your own. Navigational errors by GPS users unfamiliar with their equipment or who do not or cannot follow a cue sheet account for the vast majority of DNFs. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">DO NOT use prior GPS files that you &#8220;find&#8221; on the internet or that your buddy has from earlier editions<\/span>. The routing has changed significantly every time this brevet has been run due to conditions. Off route = DNF. The cue sheet may be updated if road or riding conditions warrant; check back before the ride. We&#8217;ll have paper copies of the final cue sheet at the start.<br \/>\n<strong>Check-in<\/strong>: Anytime after 6:15am at the start location. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The ride starts at 7:00am SHARP. Please arrive in time to sign the waiver and receive your brevet card and preride instructions.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Food &amp; Beverages<\/strong>: I&#8217;ll have water, Gatorade, coffee, and snacky-things at the start and food and beverages at the finish.<br \/>\n<strong>Lights and reflective stuff<\/strong>: Required to start, no matter how fast you think you are. There&#8217;s not a lot of daylight and this route is &#8220;slow.&#8221;<br \/>\n<strong>Current\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rusa.org\/pages\/memberservices\">RUSA membership required to ride<\/a><\/strong>! This is an insurance requirement; no exceptions.<br \/>\n<strong>Registered Riders<\/strong>: (as of 8\/20): 2 (Rozelle P, Rozelle S)<br \/>\n<strong>Ride Description<\/strong>: This route has been run several times since 2018, most recently in 2022. It travels through St Pete to Fort Desoto, then over to Pass-a-Grill, across the barrier islands to Clearwater, then up the Pinellas Trail to Tarpon Springs, then down the Pinellas Trail to a finish in St Pete. There are brief periods of urban riding and, especially given the holiday weekend, you can expect some tourist traffic around Clearwater Beach and the Sponge Docks in Tarpon. The second half of the ride is almost entirely on the Pinellas Trail, which can be crowded with dog walkers and e-bikes. Be careful! There&#8217;s also Dunedin, which if it&#8217;s a nice day will resemble a fraternity party sprawled across the trail. You may need to hike-a-bike. Or stop for a beer or three. Point being, this is not a fast route; if you&#8217;re looking for a PR or need to be somewhere in the afternoon, this isn&#8217;t the ride for you. If you&#8217;re looking for a leisurely ride through a variety of terrain, an ouzo-soaked lunch at Hellas, and the reality of a dark(ish) finish, then you&#8217;ll have a blast.<\/p>\n<hr width=\"70%\" \/>\n<h1>Registration<\/h1>\n<p>You MUST pre-register for this event!\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No day-of registrations<\/span>.
